Luca Guadagnino, Paola Antonelli Receive McKim Medal in Rome

ROME-NEW YORK: Film director Luca Guadagnino and New York’s Museum of Modern Art senior curator Paola Antonelli will receive a prestigious award on Wednesday night in Rome from the American Academy. They will be awarded with the McKim Medal during the annual gala, where the American Academy honors individuals who significantly contribute to the arts and humanities, especially in Italy and across the U.S. Previous recipients of the McKim Medal, which was designed by Cy Twombly and crafted by Delfina Delettrez Fendi, include Renzo Piano, Miuccia Prada, Zaha Hadid, Paolo Sorrentino and Roberto Benigni, among others. “The academy is delighted to recognize Paola Antonelli and Luca Guadagnino for the indelible impact they have had on how we see and understand the world around us,” said Mark Robbins, president of the American Academy in Rome.
